Section 232

    In March of 2018, President Trump announced via Presidential proclamation the imposition of a 25% tariff due to a Section 232 investigation on steel and aluminum imports.

    Current Section 232 Proclamation

    On May 31, 2018, President Trump released an updated Proclamation on steel imports. The new proclamation voids the previous tariff exemptions of certain countries including Canada, Mexico and the European Union. The tariffs now applies to steel imports effective June 1, 2018.
