Uddeholm continues to secure its position in the market with a major investment. It recently became clear that Uddeholm is investing in another ESR unit at the Mill in Hagfors, Sweden. The investment has been on the agenda for a long time. As early as 2018, a strategic expansion of the ESR facility was made, where preparations for more furnaces were completed. In tool steel, Uddeholm already has the world’s largest ESR capacity, and the new investment enables us to meet the increased demand for ESR materials.
“Our ESR is running at full capacity today and the global demand for Uddeholm’s ESR material is high. We make this investment to increase capacity and meet demand. This is an important investment that we are looking forward to”, says Ronnie Ågren, Production Manager at Uddeholm.
The new ESR furnace is expected to be installed and in operation in September 2022.
