Tom started on the 8th of April 2019 from a predominately metal pressing and welded assembly’s background, from a second tier supplier in the automotive sector. This fits nicely into the Uddeholm tool steel division, with knowledge of cold work applications of tool steel to aid the already high performing team. Tom’s pre-existing engineering sales and technical knowledge are a good starting point for Uddeholm to develop and mould him into an effective internal sales correspondent.
Tom will be quoting, processing orders and conferring with customers as a part of his basic job role. Due to this customer facing position, Uddeholm are committed to the personal development of him, and will support him through the initial training and beyond. He already has a good starting point from the previous apprenticeship he has just finished, and moving forwards we can only add key knowledge to this.
Uddeholm are the world leader for high grade tooling steel, and Tom’s passion for tooling, engineering processes and how things are produced start to finish, will really help to give each customer a bespoke viable solution, for their specific needs. Uddeholms key focus is providing the right solution, fist time, every time for our valued customers, so that we can bring them and thus ourselves into the future ahead of market standards. This is critical for Uddeholm. Tom’s customer relation skills, confidence and prior experience will greatly help with this.
Tom – “I’m excited to have been welcomed into uddeholm, and the first week settling in has made it abundantly clear this was the right move. I enjoy coming to work, and I am intrigued by the multitude of grades, solutions and technical expertise which goes into each steel grade brought out year on year from the group. Being a part of a large, multinational, successful company gives me the drive I want and need, to really kick off my career and to help Uddeholm to grow. The team are excellent at their respective jobs, and more than accommodation with training and guidance. I can only hope to reach this level and add to our successes. Thanks again Uddeholm for taking me on!”
