For over 100 years, Uddeholm was truly a “family affair”. The Geijer Legacy starts with Bengt-Gustav Sr. and Lovisa Sofia Tranea (mill founder Karlström’s granddaughter). The couple fostered 11 children together, and the large family in combination with a very specific will came to have a large effect on Uddeholm’s continued development. Before Bengt-Gustav’s death in 1746, he and his wife authored a will to contravene the company being split up on too many heirs. Between 1720–1829, the family will was obeyed with different generations of the Geijer Family at the helm of a rapidly growing Uddeholm company.
